Much too long !

I surely haven't seen the last weeks pass by and my blogging kind of suffered the most .

Look at what time can do on others. This is a photo of little Baptiste, I think he is 2 months and a week or so now. He already changed so much.

As you imagine, life has been pretty hectic here, between the girls taking turns to be sick, my work, Hubby's trips, David's 20th birthday. He came unshaven on that day and I had difficulties to imagine he was 5 years old when I first met him. he is almost a man now.

On Friday morning he and Dennis went for a bit of boys' fun to shoot clay pigeons as a birthday present. Sophie stayed with me and of course I didn't work so we did some stuff together.
We played don't get angry, despite age, we all love that game, then the lady for Rhea's acupuncture came and then we went browsing at Hobbycraft to pick up some bargains.

We chatted in the car and it was really nice. I find that when they were kids, it was very easy to communicate with them, now they are 16 and 20, it's very different. Of course, it adds something, but it removed the cute side of bringing them a sticker from shopping and having them jumping up and down for hours. That doesn't work anymore, LOL. I suppose it's what every parent experiences when their child becomes a teenager and over.

On Saturday we ended up all working because David was tweaking his architecture project before going back to Bath on Sunday, Sophie had revisions to do, Dennis decided to cut some pieces of plastic, so I went back to my computer.

The girls are fine. Rhea is doing amazing. She is off lead now but still not mixing with other dogs excepted sniffing when she is on lead. I am too worried one would jump on her. She is enjoying herself and it looks like the acupuncture is doing some good as she isn't on many meds at all. I don't have any more recent photo, her hair is growing back but very slowly and her back still looks like she fell under a lawn mower. Poor thing.

Bubbles recovered from being sick on Easter week-end and she is back to happy-chappy and . . . eating wood . Arrgghh . . .

As of my view for Jen's challenge, I managed to take it yesterday.

I think if there were a price for choosing the worst possible view, I definitely would get it. Not only is it against the sun at the time I go to the park and it's going to be worse and worse along the year, but it's also where the guys play football ( hence the little yellow flag ) and on the top of it, it doesn't appear to have changed at all since January . . .

Dennis brought the kids back on Saturday night and on Sunday, we decided to take it easy as this morning was a 3am start. It was a tough night, we both have a cold and a blocked nose so we couldn't breathe and even less sleep, so when the alarm went this morning, we hadn't slept more than a couple of hours. Anyway he arrived in Zurich safely, all that counts.

Let's reflect - April : Vulnerable

Thanks God I host this challenge that forces me to do something a bit different one week a month.

Although it bears a bit of sadness, I like this word Vulnerable because to me, it pictures protection.

I often feel vulnerable. I used not to " like " it until I read somewhere it's a sign of strength , so I still don't like it much, but I accept it a bit better.

The first advice I will put in the pot is : It's important to acknowledge being vulnerable at the moment we are. That doesn't mean informing the world about it but admitting to ourselves that something is going on. We can't change what we don't acknowledge.

The second one is I always tell Dennis that I am not at my best and I need time off. That avoids having to deal with him wondering why I suddenly behave weird, stop talking and asking me the dreaded "Did I do something to you ? ".

As of how I behave, I certainly don't go clubbing, I am more the hibernating type, kind of back to my Neanderthal woman roots really, talking with growls, going back to my cave and healing my wounds. Getting in touch with nature helps me a lot, probably because it's a wordless form of communication and it brings a lot of calm inside. When I am vulnerable, I am hopeless at communicating. The girls are also a good help and support during that time as they also understand without talking.

I'll tell more later.

Take care everybody, xxx

Lovely to read your news. I am so glad you don't feel you need to blog every day, it shows what a long way you have come. Also good that you know how to cope when you feel vulnerable, I am thinking now about what I will write, then I will make a deposit in the Bank of Invulnerability!

What a great theme Anne. A bank to help invulnerability will be very useful.
I now need to go off and think about what I do when feeling vulnerable.
