Ladies, thank you so much for your enthousiasm and your kind words but I don't try to advertise my app on here. I only talked about it because you knew I was working like nuts for so long and when I eventually finished, I wanted you to share my being so happy.
It's anyway a very boring stuff for people who can't sleep properly (not that people with insomnia are boring . . . ) . I made it for some Colleagues in a German sleep clinic. You can have a look in your Apple store, it's called Sleep Angel and I am pretty proud of the icon I made : -) , but please don't buy it, it's really not the purpose of why I was talking about it and it would make me feel bad. xxx
After 2 days of almost cold weather, it's a bit better today, although I need to keep an eye on my wash outside as it seriously threatens to rain.
Dennis saw me taking a picture this morning and he said " Don't you think you are pushing it a bit, with your being happy to order the house?" But then I told him it was for this week challenge.
To day I chose N, for new.
I threw away all my Tupperware. Some were more than 30 years old, eek and of all shapes, so they were wasting so much space. Now the vast majority is rectangular, much easier !
To continue on nicknames, most of you know I am French. My maiden name is Sissan, when you pronounce it in French, it sounds the same as the number Six-hundred. It followed me all the way from baby school to A-Levels, I was called six-hundred. Even my mum was writing 600, on my clothes, books . . . I hated this nickname, because all the kids were telling me I wasn't a person, I was a number.
May be you remember the 1960's series with Patrick MacGoohan, called the Prisoner ? He was always screaming "I am not a number, I am a free man". Well we had exactly the same problem and like him I wasn't happy about it, but for me at least, it was real.
It changed a bit when I reached University, but the nickname didn't get better. People used to call me Grenouille (Frog) and if you think it had anything to do with the fact English people call French people "Frogs", you would be wrong.
The reason was that I studied Natural Sciences. Very often, we had to operate on small animals like frogs, rabbits, rats. I had very big difficulties with the mammals, because I thought they were too close to us and too sweet, but some of my friends hated frogs. So we used to do swaps, I was doing their frog and they were doing my rabbit. Then it became public knowledge in the class that if you don't like frogs, you bring them to me, therefore the nickname.
On a more normal nickname level, my real first name is Anne-Marie, what I hated
( looks like everybody hates the first name he/she got, wonder why). My parents and family used to call me Annie, what was fine. I was only hearing Anne-Marie, when my parents were upset with me, LOL. Nowadays, I am known under the first name Anne and that's it.
Take care everybody, xxx
