We had such a nice time with my father in law.
91 going on 92 in a couple of months, I think he looks gorgeous
He is still very alert, physically and mentally. We watched Tennis for the Shanghai Masters, as it's something he really enjoys doing. I must say as simple as it is, we had a fabulous time, watching, joking, commenting. It seems that sometimes quality moments with our loved ones can be so uncomplicated.
We had a kind of exotic cooking, prepared by him and Dennis : Goat curry.
I found that goat is a bit of a chewy meat, but it was nice.
Today is Bubbles birthday, she is 8. Because we picked her and Rhea up at 5 today ( we left them with their carer as it would have been too much car for them in 36 hours), she will get her celebration meal tomorrow, pictures will follow !
As we just came back, it will be a short post, I need to unpack and order a bit before diner.
Take care everybody and enjoy the rest of your week-end, xxxx

Happy Birthday Bubbles.
I've never eaten goat meat, interesting that it is tough.
So pleased you had such a lovely time.
We used to keep goats on Lundy and I can imagine from their lifestyle that they are tough. It looks good though.
Yes, he does look very fit and healthy, glad you had a great time.
Happy birthday Bubbles, I imagine she will be in for a good day today :-) xxx
Happy Birthday to Bubbles hope she has a great meal. Never had goat's meat and don't really fancy it! xx
Happy Birthday Bubbles!
Wonderful post, Anne! A great dish! Congratulations!
/Well, ladies, I've eaten goat meat - amazing delicious!
Oh, now I feel like Pavlov's dog! -
I want to eat!!!/
Health and joy!
Great post Anne. I am glad you had such a good time visiting your father-in-law. He looks absolutely amazing for his age. I would never guess he was that old. I have had goat, not curried, but stewed. It is very popular in Jamaica and parts of Florida as well. Happy Birthday to Bubbles. Give her a hug and tummy rub for me. I am looking forward to seeing your pictures.
You are so right Anne, it is the small moments spent together that will be so important.. i have a brother in law who wanted to pay for his Dad to go on a fishing trip.. ticking the box to say he has 'treated' him. As for us, we spend the time, take the boat, go fishing, chat, relax and make the whole experience and its for free..(yes, I am back and bemoaning already!) x
