After they confirmed somebody would call me and come probably only tomorrow, I went back downstairs and I noticed it wasn't that cold anymore. The heating had started. OK, so I phone back and cancel everything . . . After an hour, it was just too hot so I had to switch it off and an hour later when it was just too cold, it refused again to start. I decided just to leave it and as my head was so so bad, I took a mixture of 2 meds, as I was that desperate : What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Well it didn't kill me, even helped me a bit and at the same time, the heating decided to start again.
So I had a kind thought for Murphy, may be after all, he's got some compassion.
The Vet called last night and Bubbles results on what I had brought during the day were the lowest since we started. Certainly not good news. We have an appointment tomorrow with the last sample, I don't know where we will going from there.
It's raining and very windy, may be we will escape fireworks tonight, but it's a pity for the children who will go around the streets.
Project 365+1 - Day 305 : Fear
Fear will certainly will be on the menu tonight for my poor Rhea when the fireworks start or when kids knock on the door. I am all ready for that. This morning I put her anxiety wrap on, to make sure I remember how to do it, as it isn't as easy as it looks and also it's advised to put it on for half an hour every couple of hours before the events. She absolutely loves it. There is all a ritual before, as she gets a relaxing massage so I just have to ask " Do we put your little coat on ? " to have her coming and lay down close to me.
This anxiety wrap has made our life much easier over the years. She is still scared, but she copes with it all much better. Last year, we even saw her dozing a bit during a firework.
Before I discovered that wrap, we used to build an " Indian tent " in the living room so she can go and hide. It wasn't too bad, but as soon as we got Bubbles, although she isn't scared of fireworks, she wanted to be in the Indian tent too. It was too small , so she was blocking the entrance, so we decided to build 2 Indian tents the year after, but of course, they both wanted to be in the same one.
Since the anxiety wrap, no more Indian tents. Sometimes we put a T-Shirt on Bubbles so she believes, she also got a coat and she is happy.
Dogs . . .
So here is Rhea in her Halloween costume ( if I can say ) for tonight.
So one year, in 2004 when Halloween was on Sunday night and there were with us on the week-end, we did some crafting and made some masks and then we took them out to knock on doors with their little baskets. Of course it was Saturday 30th night and it was one day too early, but what could we do ? People opening their doors were quite stunned, looking at us like " Are aware it's not today ? " but they all played the game and gave some sweets and coins to the Kids. I think it will be one of their nicest memories.
This is us all in 2004.
In 2007, Halloween was on Wednesday night and we had them every Wednesday after school, so it was perfect. I had prepared costumes for them and again we all went out, this time on the right day !
Down left, you even can see the blanket of the Indian tent, LOL.
I think it's the first year I am alone for Halloween as normally Dennis is here. Not that we celebrate when he is here, but at least one of us opens the door to children and give them sweets whilst the other one stays with Rhea. I won't be doing that tonight as they normally all scream, so I just will stay with Rhea. The outside of the house isn't decorated this year, so I even don't think anybody will stop by anyway.
Take care everybody, xxx

Hello Anne :)
I love your post about Halloween. The photos are brilliant, David and Sophie look so happy, as do you two as well :)
How interesting about Rhea's coat. Can grown-ups get them for Murphy's visits? I can think of times when I would like nothing more than to have an anxiety wrap on.
Apologies for not being around to comment. It was a difficult weekend and then I have been scrapping for the cybercrop like a mad thing, have lost whole realms of time!
I have just seen your question, the circle is homemade. I cut it on the eclips but a couple sized plates would do the job too. It was quite flimsy so I have reinforced it with corrugated cardboard on the back and varnish on the front. I would be more than happy to cut you some and send them if you like?
KathiJo and I have started emailing about ideas for next years challenge, would you like me to copy you in as I am sure the others would agree that you have kept it going by your leading example this year. Anyway let me know :) xxx
Great post and had never heard of that coat before!
Re emails I was going to search UKS for us all so we could email and I would like addies for cards if poss :)
Great idea for the anxiety wrap. Hope you had a better day with the heating and no headaches. Lovely pictures of the halloweens celebrated with you all.
Brilliant Halloween photos. Sorry to hear about your migraine, there is nothing worse.
Roland says that I could do with one of those coats. How do they work?
Holly has been wearing her tshirt the last few nights and hiding under the dining room table. I may resort to buying a wrap- but a tshirt seems to calm her. Last nights was more like a dress. But she prances around in it. Holly needs tests to check shes coping ok on her meds. I hope Bubbles gets some vets magic with hers.
