It is snowing . . .

After my adventures 2 days ago and a very busy no blogging day yesterday, here I am.

It has been a very cold night, judging by the look of a peg I forgot outside

The park was frozen too

and it was like walking on fortune cookies . . .  I imagine, as I haven't tried that one yet.

The other day, I was admiring the photos of Helen and Alison with the Snow ball fights and snowmen. I wish I had known this when I was a kid. I suppose many kids living in the inside of a country don't get to see the sea often whereas that's what I had kind of daily.

When I was growing up and before I left Marseille I only saw the snow twice. The first time was in 1962 when I was 6, we had a terrible winter ( like in 1956, but this one
I don't remember ), the water pipes were exploding. One morning mum called me to get up to get ready for school. I have never been a morning person, so she had to call again and then she said " come quick, it's snowing " and I thought " yeah, anything to get me out of bed". Well it was snowing and it was amazing . The second time in was in 1974,
I was already at the University. It started snowing and as the University was close to the main train station, on a big hill, the traffic was paralyzed for hours as nobody knew how to drive on snow.

Snow has always been magical to me. When I arrived to live in Munich, Germany I then  encountered what real snow was. I arrived in May so I had to wait a bit, but then one day as I was in the office, I looked out of the window and it was snowing, snowing snowflakes bigger than a £2 coin .

I jumped out of my chair and I said to the others " It's snowing, it's snowing" and my colleagues said yes, it is" and they continued working and, I said again " It's snowing, it's snowing" and within minutes, the whole office wasn't looking at the snow, but at me and laughing.

This morning in the park, there was only one snowflake falling per sqm2 but I don't care, that's still called snowing, it was beautiful and it made my day.

I went to bed at 2am last night but woke up by myself at 8 after a surprisingly good night. I have a dead line for work as of February 1st and it's going to be tough, so I might not be around as much as I would like.

Nostalgia Challenge - January : New beginnings

I didn't have time to elaborate much but there is one photo I want to share on the topic
I chose.

It's a fascinating photo because I can physically feel all the love that emanates from these 2 people

and it is even more fascinating because these 2 people are my parents.

This photo was taken during their honeymoon in the French Alps and they are a bit older than 24 and 25.

Take care everybody, xxx

Excellent post! And the photo that you have chosen - gorgeous!
Indeed, as you write -
the love that emanates from these 2 people.
I can recognize them by their smiles.
Have a nice day!

Ahhh Anne, you almost do not need words for the photo.. and what new beginnings they must have had in their 64 years! Fantastic!
And do you know that I watch your blog for Zac's weather! Also I just thought as I read about your good sleep, that dead quietness there is in the air when it has snowed in the night.. x

I love your post. I have to admit that even though I don't share the same fascination with snow, I remember the first time I ever saw it. At the time I thought it was great fun. But after awhile I got tired of it because usually when there was snow, there wasn't any sunshine and I am all about my sunshine! We are all so different aren't we? The picture of your parents is remarkable. You can see the love pouring out of these two. So romantic! Just wonderful!

What a brilliant photo of your peg, the blue goes so well with the frost/snow. Hope you meet your deadline OK.
Your parents certainly do look so much in love.

Lovely post, I love the snow as well, so long as I don't have to drive in it and that is the only reason I don't want any this year - as I will have to drive in it to work and it will stop my trianing - very selfish really lol. Love the photo of your mum and dad they do look so in love. x
