I can't believe I am saying this, but I noticed that when one thing is going wrong whilst Dennis is away, it's really gets to me, but when there are many, it's kind of much easier because it becomes funny ( afterwards, of course . . . ).
So why the title: Murphy goes to the gym ? Well you would have thought that my Thursday would have been enough, but no, my Friday went the same way as Murphy was in top shape. As the French say for the last part of a fireworks, it was the " Bouquet Final " !
After I wrote my Blog on Friday morning, I decided to do my back up, I do a back up every Friday morning, as I learned the hard way you always should do a regular back-up of your computer data. I tried to do what I normally do and Mac tells me, you can read you external NTFS ( Windows formatted ) hard disk, but you can't write on it. I try again but of course a computer is not the type of changing its mind when it decided something one way.
What happened since last Friday was that I threw Windows away from my Mac and of course, I was doing the back-up through Windows. Oh Oh . . .
So I go to Google and search. Well the good news is I am not the only one in such a mess. Bad news is that's the way Mac works. After browsing for ages, I find a program called NTFS for MAC OS X from a company called Paragon Software. For $20, it makes your Mac write on NTFS. You can even download a trial version for 10 days and have a look.
I do that, install it, then I get a message saying my computer will restart. Fine with me. Excepted the computer doesn't restart and I thought OK, now I have broken my brand new Mac. White screen for 10 minutes then black screen and a terrifying message " No bootable device-Insert boot disk and press any key ". The kind of stuff you don't want to read when you haven't got a clue what to do !
Almost in tears ( I love my Mac ) but to cut a long story short, after having had huge problems with the serial number, Apple helps me put everything back in order and it had nothing to do with the new software.
I do my back-up and I am so happy, I even officially buy the Paragon software.
By the way Jen, it's a life saver if you have external disks you used with Windows and you want to use on your new Mac and it only costs £13, really recommended.
So now it's 3 pm, I still didn't have lunch and need to go to Asda. then I get an email from gmx explaining to me that my email account had been blocked because I received/sent more than 10 emails per day, what is their limit.
What ?????? Only 10 emails a day ??? You are kidding me right ? No they are not.
Breathe, breathe . . . OK, need to deal with that later.
I rush to Asda, come back, unload the car and think Wow, I am going to have a coffee in the garden. As soon as I sit down, there are this 2 pairs of eyes fixed on me " Did you forget our afternoon walk ? " OK, I am starving now but I go to the park ( twice ), then wash my hair, talk to my parents, By then it's 6pm. Guess what, the doggies want their dinner. I then had my lunch/dinner at 7pm and I was so pleased to relax a bit.
Dennis showed up at 11:30. We sat down a bit for a chat and when he asked " How was your day ? " I smiled and said " you know, the usual ! "
Today is a glorious start of the day. Dennis came with us to the park, first with Rhea, then with Bubbles and it was really nice to have him with us.
Another proof autumn is coming !
Some nice clouds
Today we have the kids as David leaves for the University next week-end. We planned a lunch out followed by a bowling game as it will be several months now before we are all together again.
What I said before is true. So many things have happened this week, that looking back is really hilarious and I have a pretty good mood today.
Project 365+1 - Day 259: Tree revisited
There are 2 trees I had taken photos of at the time of the previous prompts and here they are again. I didn't have time to compare with the previous photos, I'll do that another day.
The ancestors' tree. I think he is the one who changed the most.
LSNED :
I am afraid I am behind, I try to catch up tomorrow.
Take care everybody, xxx

Anne we must meet this Autumn winter, say Brighton or Worthing? Can you get there? We sometimes visit Worthing so now this is possible, probably with Peter in tow?
Love all your probs but def put off having a Mac, you will be such an expert once all these hiccups go!!!
hope you have a good day with the kids before David's Uni xxxx
Mmm, I now that Macs are a Marmite kind of thing, love'em or hate'em.. good on you for persevering! Loving that first tree, so masterful!
What a day you had Anne, glad you got it sorted. Nice to see your trees again.
Thanks for the tip Anne, I don't have anything on disks, it is all in the cloud in various spots but I think I shall try Time Machine and see how that works. I like your idea of doing it once a week. I must set up a reminder.
What a nightmare seeing the grey screen. I think I would have sobbed!
I hope you have had a nice day xxx
Oh dear, I think Murphey needs to pack a bag and go on holiday :)
Great hits - the trees are fantastic and clouds - like a giant bird? You were in a fairy tale, right?
