The 365+1 Musketeers

This morning the thermometer showed 4 degrees so the park was a massive mud-skating place. I did some quite amazing sliding figures but managed not to hit the ground.

I had decided the goal was to take a picture of Holly berries. I saw some gorgeous ones a couple of days ago, but one of the dogs did something stupid (my darling Rhea must have ringing ears, as always . . .), so I had to rush and couldn't take that picture. I looked everywhere today but although there are massive bushes of holly, there wasn't a single berry to be seen.

So I tuned my attention to pine trees. I always loved them.

I grew up in the center of Marseille (France). That's a big big city and although there were some parks on the outskirts, there were no flowers or grass to be seen anywhere and I missed that terribly.

For Christmas we were going to the local market and would buy a small "living" tree and bring it back home. It used to smell delicious and I remember when the needles started falling, they were hurting our feet if we didn't wear our sleepers.

Since that day grew my love for pine trees and I just have to smell one to be instantly brought back many years go. Ah ! I guess I still feel nostalgic after yesterday's word, lol.

Project 365+1 - day 44: Friendship

No hesitation today. The place to be is right here, right now. That's not a photo I took obviously, but a photo montage.

Only most of my Cyberfriends are here because I couldn't fit you all. Some of you don't have avatars, some of you have avatars but the quality wasn't good enough for a bigger size (funnily enough the dog and the pig were very good quality) . . .  but you are all important, being in the photo or not.

I gave my thanks yesterday without knowing the word of today, so I only can say again: thank you for letting me experience such a fascinating adventure with you all.

Take care everybody, xxx

What a lovely idea- I love catching up with everyone's blogs and I am really enjoying this challenge.

I spotted Holly's smiling face there!

What a lovely idea; like you Anne, I'm a "stranger in a strange land", and what with age and infirmity (not always mine!), a large part of my social life takes place over the internet.

Oh wow, what a surprise! To see our pictures there.. but I know exactly what you mean, with such busy lives it is sometimes easier and warmer to sit by the fire and escape to this kind of friendship.. faster too! As for pine trees, I am the same for holly, it is our Christmas tree in our house, and generally the berries are before Christmas I think x

I felt a bit blue when I saw todays prompt, since moving to Ireland I haven't really made any friends. I know people to say hello to and that's about it. Seeing your picture made me tear up a little bit and I realise now friendship is more than I thought it was. Thank you.
