The temperature plummeted during the night and this morning the ground was frozen, keeping a record of all what happened yesterday.
This paw print doesn't belong to one of my dogs but I found it funny and when you see how deep it is, you imagine how much mud there was in the park yesterday.
Project 365+1 - Day 51: Fragile
Looks like we are back on our emotional journey.
I am a very strong person. I know what I want and what I don't want.
I am self confident, I do what I want to do and not what others want me to do (in the negative meaning), I care for others, I am a compassionate person, I try to make a difference in this world . . .
That's me.
Well, that was me.
Before the accident.
I still struggle to figure out why a "simple" fall could cause such a havoc in my emotional life. People tell me the "why" doesn't matter as long as it happened, but I've always been a "why" person. Anyway, that's another story.
I even struggle to tell who I am now, because I am somebody else I don't know: Angry, upset, sad, scared, wanting to hide. The real me is still somewhere, I see it popping out occasionally but it is such a long way to go back there that I sometimes can't see any light in my tunnels' maze.
There is a tree in the park that I visit everyday and I give him a hug. I might have posted a photo of him previously but I know I didn't explain his story.
Beginning of January, we had a mini tornado and a branch from this massive tree was broken by the wind. It is such a massive branch (probably 7-8 meters long) that it didn't realize yet it has been separated from the tree and his pine needles are still green.
I never thought that this specific tree of such a height and strength could ever be challenged even by gale force winds, but he was.
So there is indeed fragility everywhere, even if it is not to be seen. That's why I give him a hug everyday because somehow we have something in common, he and I.
I guess what I am trying to say today is that even the strongest are fragile and can be broken and it is important we realize that thinking that we are strong is what can make us fragile.
If you want to read the story of the Oak and the Reed from Jean de la Fontaine, it is here
Take care everybody, xxx

Oh bless you, that's brave to tell your story. I think you are strong, even though you feel fragile as well.
I hope the real you pops out more often until it is here to stay. i think you are a very special lady and I am glad to have met you.
well my dear friend.. you know exactly what i think and feel :) and you are REAL and still YOU, this journey sucks for the most part, but i am glad i have you as my travel companion (and i think we are indeed travelling by bike, looking at the pace we are making progress :D but im enjoying the scenery nowadays too and look forward to our emails and chats)...
I see YOU (the one you keep referring to as missing) almost every single day... your kind words, your wisdom when i cant see the reason, your ability to pick me up from far away! Sometimes we can't see the forest for all the trees.. so just hang on in there with me and well get there in the end.
Oh, and le petit prince is one of my all time favourite stories ever
Your posts are a delight to read. I am sure that your real you will appear much stronger out of the maze but it is hard to endure the wandering journey. The fragility of a giant tree is a wonderful example for our word today.
Dear Anne thank you for sharing what has made you fragile. I agree all of us at times feel fragile, I know I who like you was a strong persone feels more fragile these days but I think for me it is to do with getting older and more anxious about things that never use to make me feel that way!! Hope you understand what I mean? Love and hugs xxx
Ce qui embellit le désert, dit le petit prince, c'est qu'il cache un puits quelque part...
Ce qui sauve, c'est de faire un pas. Encore un pas. C'est toujours le même pas que l'on recommence...
Thank you for sharing, lovely Anne xx The tree is a very appropriate image!
Thanking you for sharing with us- I hope the journey continues to see the 'real' you overtake the fragile one more and more. I look forward to reading your blog daily- love to see the park and the dogs and read the lovely posts.
I come to your blog knowing that there will always be something there to make me stop and think Anne. I love your story today, and like Lynne, I find that age brings its own set of worries and fragility of body and yes, of the mind. To compensate, there are many things I have learnt are just not worth worrying about!
That's a thoughtful one today.
I love that concept that if you believe you are strong it makes you fragile. I wouldn't have understood what you meant this time last year but I do now. (((Hugs)))
Anne. your story really strikes a cord with me. I used to be a very strong person. I got though a mentally abusive marriage, brought up 4 children on my own for 6 years and held down a job. Now since I developed ME I have no confidence in myself, I very rarely go anywhere on my own and query my decisions but I know the people who meet me don't realise this, I find I need to put on a front. Thank goodness for my whole family they keep me going
