The weather is certainly different from yesterday and it was pretty chilly in the park.
I found a nice piece of wood. Rhea wanted to bring it back home but she even couldn't lift it so she had to give up !
Project 365+1 - Day 91 : Games
I love my dogs to bits. There is hardly something I wouldn't do for them and very often I believe I take better care of them than some people of their kids.
Anyway . . . The girls certainly don't sleep in massive gold beds but I make sure they have a healthy happy life with walks, cuddles, good food and lots of play time and if buying a new basket or coat brush means I can't buy a craft item I wanted, then so be it.
There is a lady in Sweden called Nina Ottosson who invented doggy board games, initially to entertain her own dogs. I was a bit skeptical when I first saw them for sale but after buying the 1st one 4 years ago, I can tell you that they are not cheap but they are all worth every single penny.
Tell your kids you bring them to Disneyland. You see the look on their face? That was the same on the girls' face this morning when I said we were going to play Dog Brick.
It is a board with small compartments that need to be pushed or pulled (nose and paws are allowed) in order to get the small treats hidden below. So first you put the treats and try to keep the dogs calm, what's the most difficult.
When the dog faces the board, the brown compartments close to him slide up and the ones far away slides down, so the dog must understand that and it develops its intelligence.
As in any board game, you play in turns, well you try . . .
I normally start with Rhea because Bubbles understand the concept of " it's Rhea's turn" and she looks at me to know when it will be her turn.
So then it is Bubbles' turn. Well try to explain that to Rhea. To her it's always her turn so that drives Bubbles a bit mad.
Also Rhea takes much more time to do the sliding up and down, may be due to her age, whereas for Bubbles it's almost immediate, so you can hear this kind of noise coming from her throat as she is getting impatient for her turn.
Anyway we manage each time to play this game relatively honorably and it's always a lot of fun for them and for me.
Fantastic timing that DH was back last night so he could take the pictures !
Take care everybody, xxx
