The sound of Music

Did you read "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus" by John Gray ?

If you didn't, you might want to give it a go as you will never look at a man the same
way . . . It's full of examples of why men and women are so completely incompatible and should never attempt to live as a couple, but behind being an hilarious read, it's extremely helpful to understand all these annoying things they , men, do.

This morning DH and I had 2 tasks: Buy a fan and buy a new rice cooker (to replace the one having the bath some photos ago !). So we made a first stop for the fan.

Now, you are a woman. You enter a massive store and you don't have a clue where the fans could hide. What do you do? Being an expert in time management, you immediately ask, right ?

What does a man do? He walks kilometers throughout the store (with you behind, trying to follow) in order to find by himself where the fans are.

Revelation of the day : My husband is a man . . .

Anyway we managed to get all what we needed in the end, just took longer ; - ) and we decided to bring the girls to the park. It had been heavily raining this morning and it was very muddy.

On our way out, I took a picture of our little stream. I love listening to the sound of water, ideally sea and waves, because I find it very calming. Still this little stream is really nice to listen to so I made a small video :

Project 365+1 - Day 77 : Music

Because I cannot take a picture of music (and I wish I could) my photo today shows a part of the instrument I create it with : My beloved piano

Take care everybody, xxx

Yes, imagine if you could photograph 'music' that would be fun. I suppose recording is a sort of photograph of music.

i havent touched a piano since the day i could stop those awful lessons with the even more awful teacher :D but i do love the look of a nice piano...

as for the book... it was the ONLY book i ever actively on purpose destroyed.. it very nearly let to the inevitable divorce only years earlier!!! i wish it had now, but thats by the by.. i hated that guy excusing ALL of men's shortcomings with the simple fact that they were "men" .. hello evolution has also happened to the male species not just the female! and tbh in our house, IM the one who wont ask for directions or who will traipse around until i find what i need, simply because i need to know that i did it on my own. And breathe.. breathe.. breathe... Lol i take it you see how much i HATE the "book" and the guy who wrote it

I'm always envious of anyone who can play the piano. Sometimes I wonder if it's too late to learn

It's never too late to learn, Sian, go for it.
When I taught at school, one year I taught Art to the top Juniors. I put on a record each group of chidren had paints and brushes. They had to listen to the music and paint brush strokes in the colour and motion they thought of while listening to the music. We had some wonderful abstract art and a great time.
Sorry to have used your blog for my reminisce, Anne but, as usual something you said on your blog started my memories.

lol my husband used that book as an excuse manual- he couldn't help 'xyz' it's the way men are!!!!!!

I would love to be able to play the piano. I used to be able to read music- but not sure I'd ever have been able to 'read' two lots of melody at the same time. I can't remember how to read music now-sure it would come back if I forced it.

I wish I'd have seen the prompt earlier and sent Guy in the loft to look for my clarinet- it could do with a photo before it gets rehomed!

Anne, I love your video - tutorial time. How did you link it. I wanted to do it for a photo last weekend of the boys in the park, but I had trouble uploading it anywhere. Yours doesn't look like a link to you tube or anything so I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction?

I too love the sound of water, I spent my first few years living on a small island and now I can't bear being away from it. I certainly couldn't live away from it. When I was away on holiday I needed to go down to the lake they had :)

I believe men are from a longer way off than Mars.

That's very easy Jen. You know how to add a photo on Blogger. The icon next to it on the right is to add a video, directly from your computer.
