Breathing a bit

This situation reminds me something I surely hadn't forgotten anyway :
Being away really sucks.

Some people were born and will die in the same place. For whatever reason that is not what I wanted to do. There is nothing wrong about it but when we make this decision to go away, we don't have all the elements in our hands. I don't regret what I did but I feel like
I am slowing paying for the consequences. Some of you also exiled do know what I mean.

Yesterday afternoon my mum went to visit my dad and she said she would call me on her cell phone so I can talk to him again. 2pm, 3, 4, 5 no call. So I called. The cell was on but no answer. I called for half an hour, thinking that she might not hear it ringing what I knew was impossible because their stuff makes more noise than a parade band so I was worried sick.

Then at 6, my cell showed an incoming call from my cousin, what didn't make me feel better when I saw that but in fact it was my dad on the other end. Mum had left her cell phone at home to charge because it didn't work well.

Dad told me he had been moved from Intensive care on the 10th floor to the cardiology department on the 9th floor and he already felt closer to the exit. So he was in a good joking mood. I even wonder what kind of meds they give him because he couldn't stop laughing. My dad always has a kind of happy mood but not at that point. He is still on drip and he is attached to a live scanner. That's due to the fact that bradycardia can also be caused by artery blocage, so they can keep an eye on that.

So nothing to currently worry about really, everything going to plan, but being away makes it so much more difficult. I talked to my mum this morning and she said her cell phone doesn't charge so she will have to bring it to the store to see if they can repair or replace. She can do that without problem, it's just the worry of not knowing.

When my dad had his 2nd hear attack in 1998 I was in Germany. I called my boss in Taiwan. He told me to take my laptop and phone and to fly there immediately. When I arrived in Marseille he called me and said he was going to pay for any installation needed so I can get Internet, I was supposed to work half time ( and only if I could ) and he would still pay me full so I didn't have to worry. No wonder I do love this guy.
Thanks God I had such a boss because I ended up spending 2 months in Marseille. Short after I arrived, my mum went out just to pick up some bread. She fell and broke her knee. Nightmare time as they were living on the 2nd floor. So Dad in hospital, Mum with broken knee still wanting to visit dad twice a day, crutches from and to second floor 4 times a day.

You see the picture, that's why I am a bit anxious being here. On another side there is no point being in Marseille if I am not really needed as I couldn't stay for ever anyway. My working situation changed so I need to keep focused and wait for what will happen next but that sucks too.

This morning we went to the park and the Gods were with me. It was beautiful out there, warm and sunny and feeling the sun on me really charged my batteries a bit.

The sun really makes evertything look more beautiful

Rhea was still Rhea, rolling over !

After a while she wanted to go back so I dropped her off and went out again with Bubbles. Doing that also raises my spirit because Bubbles is the one looking after me and not the opposite, so I can walk and look around without worries and she is always checking up on me.

Our walk took us at the complete opposite end of the park. It certainly had rained a lot in the past weeks and now there is almost constantly a small lake there.

The clouds started coming

More and more

and by the time we were almost home, it looked like this

but honestly, it can rain whatever it wants now, I got my fix of sun and I feel much better.

I want to thank you all for your kind messages. I was talking to DH about it last night, we 366 members have shared so many stories and experiences and photos that I feel I know each of you much better and you became kind of family.

Project 365+1 - Day 197 : Literature

That's a naughty word. The ones of you speaking several languages will agree with me : One of the biggest problems is to fight the false friends and remember how to write what in which language.
For example:

Literature  is Littérature in French
Example is Exemple in French
Address is Adresse in French
Envelope is Enveloppe in French
Development is Développement in French

The list goes on for ages. Just for you to give me the benefit of the doubt next time you see one of my mistakes, lol !

I was pretty lazy today and just took a picture of a part of a shelf but actually, looking at it, it's a good sampling of the literature we have at home as most of our books turn around psychology, spirituality or science topics.

There is something you might have done without even noticing :

To read the titles of French and German books, you need to bend your head to the left (actually French Book nr. 4 was put back up side down ) but to read English titles, you need to bend your head to the right.

Funny, isn't it? But it's pretty inconvenient and it drives me nuts when I am looking for a book.

Take care everybody, xxx

Well it's a relief that your Dad is moving closer to the exit and he is being cheerful, even if it might be drug-induced. Have some more (((hugs))) though.

Wonderful to have the sun today, great photos of the park. xxxx Take good care.

Thanks for letting us know you've heard from your dad. We knew my sister was on the end when she started moving down the ward towards the doors.

It has been lovely to see the sun today. It was lovely and warm first thing here today.

Anne, I often watch programmes about people who have moved overseas and then think they want to come back home.. one family in particular had a mum who really wanted to come back to the UK but her family had grown up in New Zealan.. she decided to stay as she felt that it is the children who should feel okay to move away but parents should stay where the kids feel is their root.. so you were OK to leave.. ! Lovely that you are still wanting to chat with your blog family even if you have lots of other things on your mind x
