It doesn't look like bad stuff wants to stop this year. The Vet called me last night and said that although Rhea results are kind of in the norm brackets, the Kidneys results are rocketting at the maximum allowed ( even a bit more ) and the values have doubled since her last blood test a month ago. I know our Vet since almost 10 years now. He is a very nice guy and I blindly trust him. He knows how I worry when the girls are sick and he always tries to bring me things with a bit of humor so he told me we shouldn't panic yet, do another blood test in a month and then depending on the results, we will decide if we need to panic.
The bad thing is that one of the meds that helps her so much for her paws can cause renal problems as secondary effects, so we might have to make a choice between paws and kidneys. Again, let's wait and see.
I talked to my dad this morning and got a bit more info after the doctor visited him at home. He is on trial for a new medecine for the next 3 months. If he gets used to it he will continue taking it. If not he will need a pacemaker. So let's see how he goes on for the next 3 months.
One thing that I don't understand is that this meds is a beta-blocker. I take one for my headaches and the side effects are being tired, lower heart beat and lower blood pressure. That's exactly what my dad suffered from and went to hospital for. These side effects were confirmed by their doctor but it appears the med still should help him. Sometimes we just have to trust and stop thinking I guess.
We went to the park, under very grey skies but our walk was dry..
A nice feather
The girls got a new friend. A lady we know lost her second dog in January and she got a new puppy called Finn
He is extremely cute, 17 weeks old, growing in a very bizarre way
as he has extremely long legs compared to his body so he runs all funny but it all will catch up
after a while. The only problem : he has razor sharp baby teeth and of course he wants to chew you to say hello. Ouch !!!
Dennis eventually decided to spend the night in Wales and I
am glad he did as any time spent with his Dad is to be cherished, so he was only due back this morning.
After our walk the girls were waiting for him and they always chose the most impractical places ( for me ) but from there, they both can see the front door.
He eventually arrived and there was an earthquake of dogs going down the stairs at the speed of light.
My FIL was better than the day before but it
is just like he went down one step of the ladder. If I were to compare him
to music I would say the music still plays but it is less loud. I guess
at 90 it is normal, we just will have to keep an eye on him too.
I love pancakes and he always makes some for Dennis to bring me back. I insisted that this time he please doesn't, but there was no way, I got my pancakes this time too. Bless him !
Tonight we go and see The Batman sequel : " The Dark Knight Rises ". Yeah.
Oh and I won £25 at the lottery ! Double Yeah !
Project 365+1 - Day 200 : Airborne
Today is Day 200. I wonder why we humans are so impressed by round numbers. We don't make a big fuss about our 39th or 49th birthday but come to 40 or 50 then it's a massive event for most of us. It simply doesn't make sense, does it ?
Anyway it is day 200 and I am glad it is, lol. Quite an achievement we have behind us and looking back at the year, so many things happened already.
I wasn't too sure what to take a photo of. I knew what the word means and immediately thought about airborne viruses ( I am watching too much disaster movies on TV ). In the park I tried to take a photo of birds in the sky but they were so far away that they were hardly to be seen, I didn't fancy driving to the airport. So I turned to something else, also airborne, my perfumes .
Take care everybody, xxx

Oh, dear Anne, you are a true Frenchwoman!
Excellent idea! I would not think of that! A wonderful collection!
And congratulations for the pictures!
/ Now I start to read again - so I did in school - first I write homework and then learn lessons! Grin! /
Have a wonderful day!
Ahhh, I think it is a better few days for you.. Dad's perking up and pancake making, lottery wins and Batman.. at least some things to make the days different after the worries.
I like your perfume choices too.. Pleasures and Dior.. I used to like Diorella many years ago.. and still trying to buy XS for Col even though they only want to sell the black! K xx
So pleased about both Fathers and at 90 and under par making pancakes for you is marvellous!! Re beta blockers, you will just have to trust the professionals!
You are very 'french ' with your perfumes and great choice for airborne too!! I was a miss Dior peep until my body changed and made the perfume smell different!!!
great idea for airborne. Good news about your dad and fil- especially being up to making pancakes. Hope Rhea goes ok and the next tests in a months time are ok.
Good news on your Dad again, but yes you are bound to worry. xxxx
Good news on both dads. I love your choice for airborne. I'm afraid with my ME I can no longer wear perfume of any kind as the smell gives me migraine, I used to love wearing different ones.
I love perfume- it's my one 'essential' luxury!
Glad to hear the news about both dad's- how lovely of your fil to prepare your pancakes for you.
I really hope Rhea gets some promising test results.
The new pup you saw today is a beauty- is it a Red Setter. My old childhood dog used to have a best friend called Doby- who was the same breed.
