Childhood memories

Yesterday we installed ourselves on our ( terrible ) sofa with some cheese and a glass of wine, to watch Spain-Italy. I was happy Spain won but I felt for the poor Italians !

At almost 10pm, I opened the door to the garden for the girls to have a last sniff before going to bed and there was this little bird on the top of my drying thing. I think they are call fly eaters, being close to robins but the red is at a different place. I didn't have time to go upstairs and pick my camera so the photo was taken with my phone and from far away so it isn't good, but I was so happy I wanted to record the event. Look at him and listening to him singing was so pleasurable. They are normally around during the day but I never saw one of them at night.

When I got up this morning, Bubbles the kitchen floor decorator had taken a day off, thanks for that.

It is pouring down, so no park in view soon and I have a lot of things to do too, so it will be a quick post.. May be an update if it brightens up what doesn't look like.

Project 365+1 - Day 183 : Shadow

One thing is sure,  the weather ( or somebody else ) has been playing with us. I remember in January one word was Frost and there was sunshine and no frost to be seen anyywhere. Then later on we had raindrops as a word and it was so shiny everywhere in UK. As of today shadow, it is pouring down like anything so there is no sign of sunshine.

So I got an idea that I suppose many of you will get too. When I was little, my dad used to make animal shadows for me with his fingers. He also made little men with accessories
( a hat with a bottle top . . . ). I have beautiful memories of that time and I remember laughing for hours, so I thought I try making shadow animals today.

DH and I certainly had fun doing that, probably me more than DH because I switched all lights off in the living room excepted a small one and if was still trying to work on his laptop.

So here you have, according to me, a rabbit pulling his tongue

and a snail going on holidays

Take care everybody, xxx

Now it is lunch time - I have to wait until the shadow grows.

Very clever- I need to hook up a light source somewhere to get a chance of shadow later. I do have a 'cheat' idea up my sleeve that I might resort to!

I too used the kitchen light to make a shadow as there was typically no sun! Think your rabbit is better than mine LOL!!

Very good Anne, I hadn't actually thought of that :) We did have a little bit of sunshine but it was when I drove home so no chance.

I hope you aren't so busy this evening :) xxx
