So we were in the park short after 6 but believe it or not, we weren't alone. It's true that at this time of the day the temperature is ideal for both humans and doggies.
Rhea went out with a lot of enthousiasm and walked probably 20 meters more than yesterday but then she wanted to go home so we turned back to drop her off.
Although Bubbles loves Rhea to bits you can see she is really happy when she gets some one to one time with me. May be also because she is so obedient that we can go everywhere and explore some hidden parts of the park.
It's funny becasue this photo looks like it was taken at sunset
whereas in fact the sun is rising.
I have always loved perspectives although I was always terrible at drawing them.
When I was little, my mum kept on explaining me that when the road I was drawing was going far away to the mountains, it had to be thinner and thinner and I kept telling her that if so, the car wouldn't have anymore space to drive on it. She was then saying that the car would also be smaller. My final answer was that I didn't want to be shrunk so the road would stay the same, lol .
The red whale kind of moved out for the time being but we don't want to get rid of her completely :
We have this type of flowers below in France, but as shrubs not tree, so I'm not sure it's the same.
I checked on Google and it says it's called Broom ( ? ! ? ) : A shrub (genera Cytisus and Genista) of the pea family, with long, thin green stems and a profusion of flowers. The French name is " genĂȘt " so that would make sense.
When I came to this country I was amazed to see rhododendrons as trees whereas there were only known as bushes to me so may be that's the case for this species too.
This park is fantastic because it is so big and there are so many paths to go around that there are new things to discover almost everyday. Just before we went back home I spotted this bed of daisies along the river
From the photo it's hard to tell if they are big or small, in fact they are close to 2 and a half inches. Gorgeous.
I couldn't resist that one
Then we had breakfast and it was time to pick up my parents at the airport. By the way, it's mother's day today for French people !
They did a very well noticed entrance in Gatwick's South Terminal on the back on an electric car. The driver asked us where we parked and drove them until the very beginning of the car park. A fantastic Easyjet assistance service and it is free. I must write to compliment them ! Only down side we litterally were running after the little car in order to keep up.
Now it's official, the French have a the majority in this house ( for a little while ). Rhea was very pleased to see them again and crying.
As for Bubbles she gets excited very quickly so to avoid she hurts my mum's arms as she did last year, I thought about giving mum the Red Whale costume ( I know it 29 degrees . . . )
but it worked really well
They unpacked, we had lunch and now they are having a small nap as they got up at 5:30 !
Project 365+1 - Day 148 : Unfinished
I had the audacity to check Suzie's web site at 6am, of course there was nothing there. Then at 7, at 8, at 8:30 still nothing, that was strange. At 9, at 9:30 nothing. Panic . . .
At a 9:45 there was still no word ,we had to leave and I thought there were Gremlins again in my computer.
But how wonderful smart phones are, I had never realized before today. I could pick up the word on the middle of the highway and then I felt so so much better, lol.
As we parked our car, I double checked my parents had just landed so I took a picture of the first thing that matched the word, just in case I wouldn't have time later.
Here it is :
and I was right. By the time I thought about the word again, we were home chatting.
Take care everybody, xxx

i took loads of photos of those exact same yellow flowers in our field the other day, they seem to be everywhere! growing on trees, in bushes, randomly on the grass.. they remind me of snapdragons.
i also forgot to say a BIG thank you for the lovely "non occasion occasion mail" i got from you the other day. i love the little easel and the tags are really cute too!
I'm having trouble commenting on your blog for some reason Anne. Anyway I've managed now.
It is lovely to see that your mum and dad have arrived. I do hope you all have a great ten days with them.
What a lovely day Anne :)
Your parents look nice and smiley just like you, have a wonderful time.
I love Brooms, we had a gorgeous one in our old garden, beautiful photos all round today. xxxx
Hi Anne, so nice to enjoy the day before many of us have even woken...I thought the broom looked more like a laburnum, ours is a tree which is just flowering. Enjoy the visit with your parents, they will so appreciate it and we all look forward to hearing about the times you have x
