Last Monday I got up at 3am as usual when DH leaves. In the evening he had a late meeting and I waited to know he was safe back at the hotel and that was after midnight.
On Tuesday he was traveling again and went back to the hotel at 1am. So the other day when I was chatting with Jen I was telling her I really needed an early night and that was the plan for last night.
Long ago, DH offered me a USB wireless stick for the TV and in the evening I decided to install it, so he has the surprise when he comes back. Saying the manual was a bit too small would be an euphemism because they were only telling on the box that you needed to insert the USB stick into the USB slot. A BIG thank you for , that in case it wouldn't come to the mind of people that it's the right thing to do. It was an open battle with the TV to understand how to set it up because I couldn't put my hands on the manual, but eventually, I got YouTube on the TV. Yeah !
Then I remembered I saw an advertisement for installing free Anytime+ on Sky and I thought I do that quickly before going to bed. I better should have remembered what I told Jen.
My darling husband has a lot of qualities but order is not one of them. Yeah I can hear you thinking : you remember the photos of clutter I posed a while ago so I better should shut up ! Well may be I am messy but you ask me for something, I pull it out of the mess immediately. As for hubby, forget it !
Anyway I was trying to locate a network cable, that I eventually found. Plugged it in into the router, plugged it in into the Sky box. Message : " Broadband has been found. Click on Select to confirm ". Yeah, piece of cake. They said on Internet that when this happens, you just follow the on-screen instructions. Well no instructions appearing. I try to go to Anytime +, there isn't any Anytime+ to be found anywhere. Switching the TV off, the router off, then everybody on again. Nope, doesn't work.
By then it was 11pm. So I decided to call Sky tech support for help. I waited kind of 20 minutes when I got bored and I though that may be Anytime+ needed to be activated ? So I started searching for that on Sky web site.
Did you ever wonder who writes manuals or tutorials ? And did you ever wonder how much some of these guys are paid to write the most stupid supposedly helpful piece of information? Remind me to ask the questions to the Sky guys next time I call . . .
For the next half hour I kept on coming from a link, going to another one that was bringing me back where I came from. This is a trait that I could have tried to picture in the faceless portrait, because my motto is : It's not a piece of stupid equipment that's gone rule my life even if I have to spend the night on it.
As of spending the night on it, it started looking good . . . Eventually I ended up on another link that explained that although it is free, you still need to buy it. Ach so !!!
So after buying the Anytime+ feature through tens of screens and getting a confirmation that it was absolutely free of charge, I got an email telling me : You have Sky Anytime+ !
So I rushed downstairs, switched the TV on and O Miracle, Anytime+ was effectively available. Indian dance to celebrate.
Then I had to organize the cable so the girls don't walk on it ( I have no wish to buy a wireless one from Sky at £60 ). After all that was done, I thought I could go to bed. The clock showed 1:40 am and I thought " Well done, Anne ! "
This morning I woke up at 7 and couldn't sleep anymore. I guess this evening I need an early night, don't you think?
After opening the garden door to the girls this morning, I played the red whale (without the costume, I must say ). Normally I would have helped this awful thing below to a triple salto out of my garden ( probably to the one of the neighbour, not my fault if all these gardens are so close to each other ), but I decided against and instead started taking pictures.
I try to see beauty everywhere. It's a bit difficult with slugs but from closer up, it's not too bad . I prefer snails I must say but there wasn't one around !
Then we went to the park. I took some pictures but they have been used for the word of the day, see below.
Project 365+1 - Day 138 : Group
I didn't really like this word, it was a strange one for whatever reason.
As I really didn't know what to take, I ended up with a collage of several groups: Trees, flowers, dog pre-digested pieces of wood ( just joking ) and us 3 . I almost gave up with the photo of the girls and I as I didn't have long enough arms and the girls kept on moving, but I more or less managed us 3 in the same shot !
Take care everybody, xxx

LOL Anne you lost me in the first sentence, but will say "well done" as I can understand that you achieved....?? We don't have sky and we are sticking with freeview as for Free sat and sky (too expensive) you need a dish? So NO!
My posts keep disappearing into the ether! I'm sure I posted earlier!
They make me cringe.
I'm having techno problems today aswell and it's really frustrating me!
That should have read- that slugs make me cringe. I won't even go in the garden in bare feet incase one got on the path before me!
ooh the slug photos are brilliant, esp the first one. Don't know how you would do this challenge without your dogs - ha ha! love to see them everyday.
Wow you had a real Techy challenge there, Anne. Great that you sorted it. I'm like you Anne, and like to see beauty in everything. Roland took photos of slugs a few years ago and they were beautiful. I just wish they would leave our plants alone. We came back from holiday to find they had eaten all our bean seedlings.
well done on the 'group' photo, i found this prompt a little tricky too
I wimp out on techno problems and pass them onto Peter. Pure laziness so well done for persevering.
Your slug photos are great. Slugs are a family joke at the moment as somehow mum has managed to get them in her lounge. She is putting beer and slug pellets out at night and has caught two of them but thinks there might be more. She has no idea how they have got in.
Hopefully you won't have to prove you aren't a robot any more on my page. Sorry I hadn't changed that.
