This morning I got up really early because it was already too hot to stay in bed anyway and I was a bit worried about Rhea. It's always difficult when one of the girls needs to go to the Vet because not only it stresses her but she can't have any breakfast either whereas the other one doesn't intend to also fast.
I try to distract one in the living room with music whilst the other one eats in the kitchen, but they are not stupid. However when it is Rhea I tell her the truth, that she needs to go to the Vet and she can't have any food. She understands that and then goes to her basket by herself. Bless her.
At 8:15 I left Rhea at the Vet for her blood test. I gave her a big cuddle and said " I come back ". She had this look on her face " I know you will but do I really need to stay here ? " It broke my heart to leave her at the Vet. They are extremely nice people and they really take good care of her but from Rhea's ( or any other dog point of view) she doesn't exactly what will happen to her and for how long, so it makes it a scary and stressing exeprience for her.
Back home I took Bubbles for a walk. With all the water we had and now all the sunshine, nature is growing at an amazing speed. This is an unofficial entrance to the park, the one we use :
and there are walls of nettles of both sides so you need to squeeze in order to enter.
I think I will go and cut the things down this afternoon because I get an horrible allergy when they touch me.
The park being an ex golf club, they planted very different types of grass depending on what the place was supposed to be used for. Here on the left for example it was the putting range, so the type of grass is very short and slow growing so as soon as the sun strikes, it gets yellow very quickly.
But on some other places, the grass is very long and stays beautifully green.
It was already hot when we went out and we had to walk along the
river and under the trees to get a bit of freshness, but although it was flooding a month ago the river doesn't carry a lot of water anymore.
I officially named Viv our nature expert, so many she knows what this is. I have seen cotton balls in Louisiana and it looks very similar but here it grows on a massive tree :
When we came back home Bubbles rushed in as she expected to see Rhea so she was really disappointed. She knows she went to the Vet, because she understands the word but it's hard to make her sense what time really is. I keep on telling her " Rhea will come back soon " but she looks so sad. I don't want to know what poor Bubbles will go through when Rhea will pass away.
I am supposed to call the Vet after lunch to get news and hear when I can get Rhea back.
I can't wait either. I am not a very patient person at all but when it has anything to do with the girls, it's even worse. Home is not home when both girls are not in.
Project 365+1 - Day 146 : Boring
Life is all about taking risks, right?
So even if I get half of the forum turning against me, I believe there is NOTHING more boring that all these soaps on TV
I feel so stronly about it that if you would tell my Stepkids I went to the Eastenders Website to take a picture they'll never ever believe you !
Take care everyybody, xxx

hope you can rhea up soon from the vets and all goes well. lol about the soaps, i watch a select few :)
I tried to comment yesterday about monkey nuts, but blogger wouldnt let me...i wanted to say he would drive me nuts too lol, good photo of him and he looks great, just dont like dangley things distracting me whilst driving.
Hope she's back home having cuddles now. When will you get the results? Thinking about her and you!
Thank you so much for the card pack- I was like a child oohing and ahhing after everything I picked up!
I love your photos again- it is a beautiful time of year now.
I'm afraid I watch Corrie- but don't keep up with any of the others. Dh wouldn't tolerate Eastenders!
I'm with you on the soap front ~ they make me feel miserable!
Really hope your girl is back home now and everything is OK. My head is empty it seems - I couldn't think of anything boring all day except the statistics at school. But you gave me another idea - I hate most soap operas too.
Boring but addictive! You have to break the habit and it doesn't help if your husband likes Eastenders - ha ha.
Hope the pup is home and well.
I hope Rhea is home ok, i'm thinking of you all.
I used to watch them when I was younger but now I surf the net and craft instead :)
The park looks lovely with all the different grasses and interesting to see the river. I loved to hear a bit more history about it too. xxxx
I know what you mean, but sometimes the DH and his National Geographic programmes finish me off, it's the repetition and the narrator droning on the same every time..
Hope all is well with Rhea, she is a very lucky dog to be so loved .. x
How is Rhea? Anne.
I thoroughly agree with you about soaps and stopped watching them a few years ago. I also feel the same about football so when thats on I sit next to Roland with the laptop or go upstairs and craft.
I don't know about being a nature expert, I'm not that but I will help out if I can. I'm really not sure about the beautiful fluffy seed heads but if you could send me a picture of some leaves and the bark I might be able to give you a bash at the type, perhaps some one else can help. I am pretty sure it is not a British Native.
